Beth Ellington is a Lecturer of Computer Information Systems in the Walker College of Business at Appalachian State University.  She received her Ph.D. in Information and Library Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, an M.B.A. from Elon University and is currently enrolled in the Post-Baccalaureate Certificate Program in Supply Chain, Logistics & Transportation at the University of North Carolina Greensboro, Bryan School of Business and Economics.

Dr. Ellington's experience includes sixteen years in the manufacturing sector, holding titles of Quality Assurance Coordinator, Statistical Process Control Coordinator and Production Supervisor, and most recently in academia as Project Manager for the NC Health Info Project at the UNC Health Sciences Library.  She has also been an Instructor at Elon University where she taught Computer Information Systems courses and as Adjunct Professor at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where she taught courses in Database Systems and Human Resources Management.

Dr. Ellington's research interests are in the areas of human computer interaction, usability, web design, task analysis, workflow modeling, process improvement, activity theory and information overload.  She has published in the Journal of Web Librarianship and has presented her research at the Americas Conference on Information Systems (AMCIS).
