Dr. Shishi “Cecilia” Wu joined Appalachian State University in 2025 as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Information Systems in the Walker College of Business.
Her research examines how digital and emerging technologies influence individual behavior, online interactions, and organizational decision making. Her current teaching focuses on business analytics.
Prior to entering academia, Dr. Wu gained professional experience in human resources and recruitment, with a focus on talent engagement, employer branding, and technology enabled recruitment initiatives.
As an educator, Dr. Wu is committed to putting students at the center of her teaching and supporting their academic and professional development. She hopes to support her students and contribute positively to the broader community.
