D. Scott Hunsinger is a Professor in the Department of Computer Information Systems in the Walker College of Business. Before joining ASU, Scott served as Dean of Academic Affairs and Information Technology (2001-2004), System Administrator (1996-2000), and Instructor (1996-2004) at NCCATT, an institution in the NC Community College System. Scott has also taught in the Belk College of Business at UNC Charlotte and has worked for Microsoft Corporation and SouthTrust Bank.
Scott has previously received several grants to develop IS courses ($88,400) and to create a portable laptop training lab ($14,985). He has also assisted in writing several multi-million dollar NSF and Microsoft grants through the Regional Information Technology Consortium based in Charlotte.

- Developed & taught wide variety of face-to-face, online, & distance education undergraduate & graduate courses at Appalachian State University, including Personal Computing Effectiveness, Foundations of Information Systems(developed), Network and IT Infrastructures (developed), Emerging Technologies (developed), IS Project (capstone course), Managing Instructional Technology Infrastructures (developed – graduate course), and New and Emerging Technologies (developed – MBA course)
- Started Cisco Networking Academy in 2010 so students can use networking equipment in classes
