Computer Information Systems

Dr. Youngeui Kim is an Assistant Professor of Computer Information Systems in the Walker College of Business at Appalachian State University. She received her Ph.D. in Management Information Systems from the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee. Her research interests mainly lie in online review analysis using image and text mining combined with data analytics. She strives to examine the informative and economic role of user-generated pictures posted along with online reviews and also to see how the pictures are perceived across national cultures. Her teaching interests include but are not limited to database management systems, data analytics, and information security. She has published in the Decision Support Systems and the Asia Pacific Journal of Information Systems and has given conference presentations at the Workshop on Information Technologies and Systems, the Americas Conference on Information Systems, and the Korea Society of Management Information Systems.
