Defense Intelligence Agency CIS Internship

Nicholas Anderson is completing a CIS internship this summer with the Defense Intelligence Agency. The mission of the DIA is to provide intelligence on foreign militaries and operating environments that delivers decision advantage to prevent and decisively win wars. The DIA is the nation’s premier all-source military intelligence organization. The agency’s four competencies – human intelligence, all-source analysis, counterintelligence, and technical intelligence – enable military operations while also informing policy-makers at the defense and national levels. 

The DIA accepts students from across the country to participate in its 10 – 12 week summer internship program. They also offer internships in both the fall and spring semesters. Degrees of all kinds are accepted. Requirements to be an intern with the DIA is a minimum of 60 credit hours at the time of employment and a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale at the time of application. Those conditionally accepted for internships are subject to initial and periodic counterintelligence-scope polygraph tests and drug tests. Obtaining a security clearance is a requirement for employment as an intern. You receive all the benefits of federal employment during your time as an intern including an annual salary with a rate depending on the number of credit hours completed. Ashley graduated App State with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. He went on to earn a master’s degree in Strategic Intelligence from the Defense Intelligence College and a master’s degree in strategic studies from the United States Army War College.
