On Thursday, February 20, 2020, Professor Johann Vaz was recognized as the Food Lion Teacher of the Game at the ASU Men's Basketball game. This is a student-athlete nomination for a faculty member that they feel has most positively contributed to their educational experience at Appalachian. Professor Vaz is a lecturer in the CIS department as well as an advisory board member and the CIO for ECRS in Boone NC.
