On Friday, February 14, The Department of Computer Information Systems along with The Center for Analytics, Research and Education will present a Lunch and Learn series.

 Presenting will be:

 

Justin Cervero, Information Technology Services: Microsoft has made a new cloud platform available to us: Azure Lab Services. This service will allow faculty to provide students a fully functional virtual machine to each student customized with specific software and configurations relevant to the course. ITS believes this could be particularly useful. They will give a brief demo of the service.

Awad Hassan, C.A.R.E. and CIS: "Our ancestors started changing their lifestyle from hunting and gathering into farming around 10,000 BC. Currently and after 12000 years, high-tech agricultural operations are dominating increasingly. Trends like: Intensive, Precision and Sustainable Agriculture, Agribusiness, Aquaponics, Biotechnology ..etc are being more popular. IS people have strong analytical and critical thinking skills. Therefore, they are highly qualified to contribute to modern agriculture research and business. Let’s discuss how IS may be engaged in modern agriculture."
