Students learn and explore in China

Dr. Charlie Chen, Ms. Samantha Fuentes and fourteen students just successfully completed an immersive study abroad program in China. During the spring break trip, students were able to interact with information systems professionals at Microsoft China, and supply chain professionals at High Jump Solutions, a 3rd party logistics solution provider. In addition to learning global supply chain operations from these professionals, students were able to see the operations of the world's largest Starbucks store in Shanghai, and practice using mobile payment services to accomplish daily tasks. Toward the end of the trip, students were able to participate in a shark tank activity, and pitch new business ideas to Chinese venture capitalists for prizes and constructive feedback. This was the trip of a lifetime for these students as they were able to explore beautiful places (e.g. Great Wall, Forbidden City, Chinese garden) and experience rich cultural activities (e.g. tea ceremony).
