- Ashton Roess is an Adjunct Lecturer for the Computer Information Systems Department within the Walker College of Business at Appalachian State University. She received her Master of Applied Data Analytics (MSADA) and Bachelor of Exercise Science (BS) from Appalachian State University in 2023 and 2024. She also works remotely as a Clinical Data Specialist for Aperio Clinical Outcomes, a Contract Research Organization (CRO) based in Durham, NC. She has worked for PharPoint's data management and programming department for 3 years as an intern and clinical data associate, assisting various BioTech and Pharmaceutical companies in reaching their clinical trial goals.
- Ashton's research interests include healthcare data analytics, data management, data governance, people analytics, and clinical research. As a recent graduate with hands-on experience in clinical data management and a background in tutoring and healthcare research, she is committed to fostering a welcoming environment for all students that bridges theoretical knowledge with practical application. Ashton's teaching philosophy centers on the belief that learning should be an engaging, interactive, and relevant process where students grasp analytical concepts and understand real-world applications.
