Open to All CIS Majors

Scholarships with Special Criteria

*CARET Student Research Scholarship

  • Engaged in research, as a student majoring in Computer Information Systems, during the period of April 1-March 31 prior to the scholarship announcement as approved by the Executive Director

*Excelling in CIS Scholarship

  • Student must be excelling in the CIS program
  • Demonstrate financial need

*Pioneering Women in Information Technology

  • Student must declare as a CIS major by the end of the semester for which they are receiving award
  • Financial need considered

*William Benjamin McLawhorn Academic Endowed Scholarship

  • Information Systems or Accounting major
  • Must be a North Carolina resident
  • Actively involved in college/community activities

*Dr. Doug May Scholarship

  • Student must be a Junior or Senior Information Systems major
  • Must Demonstrate Financial need
  • Minimum GAP is 3.25
  • Preference given to Military, Athletes or Underrepresented student populations 


*APICS- Foothills Chapter Supply Chain Management Scholarship

  • Student must be pursuing a major in SCM
  • Student must have successfully completed at least one of the required SCM classes for the SCM major
  • Student must be active in the Appalachian Supply Chain Club (ASCC)

*Appalachian Supply Chain Advisory Board/ CSCMP Endowed Scholarship

  • Student must be pursuing a major in SCM
  • Student must have successfully completed at least one of the required SCM classes for the SCM major
  • Student must be active in the Appalachian Supply Chain Club (ASCC)
  • An interview is required
  • Financial need taken into consideration
  • Mimimum GPA is 3.0

*Appalachian Supply Chain Open Advisory Board Scholarship

  • Student must be pursuing a major in SCM
  • Student must have successfully completed at least one of the required SCM classes for the SCM major
  • Student must be active in the Appalachian Supply Chain Club (ASCC)
  • An interview is required
  • Financial need taken into consideration
  • Mimimum GPA is 3.0
